2019年国際ＧＧ大会 報告

The 2019 Yurihama International Ground Golf Open was held May 24-25 at Yurihama’s dedicated ground golf course, Shiokaze no Oka Tomari (Tomari Sea Breeze Hill), with a special welcome reception held on May 23 at the Suimeiso Hotel, featuring a special performance by local hula group Lōkahi Ka Makana.

Over 300 participants from across 15 countries, including South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, China, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Poland, and the United States, gathered at the home of ground golf for this 2-day tournament. Blessed with warm sunny weather, participants completed 4 rounds of ground golf while both deepening friendships with other players and enjoying the beautiful view!

Ground golf is a fun and easy sport suited for fostering friendships between players, regardless of their culture and background, as well as for promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for people of all ages and fitness levels.

We hope you will be able to join us next May for the 2020 Yurihama International Ground Golf Open or for the ground golf competition to be held at Yurihama’s Shiokaze no Oka Tomari as part of the 2020 Kansai World Masters Games!

Don’t worry if you have never played before- with its straightforward rules, even beginners have a good chance of turning the tables with a hole-in-one!

2018年国際ＧＧ大会 報告

The 2018 Yurihama International Ground Golf Open was held May 19-20 at Yurihama’s dedicated ground golf course, Shiokaze no Oka Tomari (Tomari Sea Breeze Hill).

This year’s event kicked off once again with a welcome reception at the Suimeiso Hotel, featuring a special performance by one of Yurihama’s local hula groups, Lokahi Ka Makana.

The weather was unfortunately a bit overcast for the first day of the tournament, but nearly 240 players from across 8 countries were able to enjoy ground golf while building new friendships and connections, despite their diverse backgrounds, nationalities, and cultures.

Participants were also able to enjoy a small taste of Japanese culture through complimentary local tonjiru (miso soup with pork and vegetables) as well as a matcha green tea service.

Ground golf is a fun and easy sport suited for fostering friendships between players and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for people of all ages and fitness levels. With simple rules, even beginners can catch on quickly and fully enjoy the game.

2016湯梨浜町GG国際交流大会 報告

A special welcome reception and social mixer was held for the GG open participants on 1 October 2016 (Saturday), at the Suimeiso Hotel in Yurihama, following a productive meeting of representatives regarding the further internationalization and promotion of the sport.

The ground golf open kicked off the next day with an opening ceremony, with remarks from the event chairman and mayor of Yurihama, Mr. Masamichi Miyawaki, honorary event chairman and governor of Tottori Prefecture, Mr. Shinji Hirai, and head of the Japan Ground Golf Association, Mr. Kazuo Sonoyama.

Blessed with perfect weather, players were able to enjoy a full day of ground golf. Many participants commented on how it was a fantastic game for building relationships and enjoying the outdoors with friends.
