第4回ゆりはま天女ウォーク

Participants may choose from 3 courses: Course A, Course B, and Course C.

The 12km Course A (Lap Around Lake Tōgō) takes participants around the scenic Lake Tōgō, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful spots of the San’in Region. TennyoWalk3Though long, this course is generally flat, except for the stretch between Ayame Pond and the Mt. Izumo Lookout Point.

Course B (Lake Tōgō and Local Treats Walk) is a 7km course offers participants the chance to take a boat ride on Lake Tōgō and enjoy some local dishes.

Participants who select the 5km Course C (Oniyome Path) will be able to enjoy the retro atmosphere of the Matsuzaki district of Yurihama.

(Special price for exchange students and foreigners living in Japan! Includes lunch for both days and commemorative goods)

Other:

  1. Free shuttle bus service available from Tottori Station, Central Tottori General Office (in front of TPIEF’s Kurayoshi office), or Yonago Station.
  2. Rental clubs and balls will be available for use at no extra charge.
  3. Gameplay will follow the rules set forth by the Japan Ground Golf Association.
  4. The event will still be held in the event of rain; however, the event is subject to change in the event of severe weather.
  5. There will be an optional welcome reception held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, before the tournament begins. This is free for all participants to attend.

多文化のつどい・Multicultural Gathering

多文化のつどい

The Yurihama International Friendship Association (YIFA) and Higashi Tajiri district of Yurihama are working in cooperation to host a multicultural get-together to help foster friendships and understanding between the local多文化のつどい residents and slowly but surely increasing number of foreigners living in the area.

Attendees are welcome to help make and enjoy takoyaki and onigiri, try their hand at traditional chigiri-e (torn paper) art, and listen to a special guest lecture on disaster prevention and preparedness.

There is no need to register in advance and it is free to attend. The event will be held next Sunday (1/29) from 11am-3pm at the Higashi Tajiri Community Center.

Feel free to drop-in at any time- we hope to see you there!

Postponed following the earthquake that stuck central Tottori last October, the 8th annual Dance TUBE dance competition has been rescheduled for Sunday, 22 January 2017.

泊夏祭り(7/23)・Tomari Summer Festival

Just a reminder that the Tomari Summer Festival will be held this Saturday(7/23) near the Tomari fishing port in Yurihama! In the morning, there will be a sakaki (a type of evergreen that is considered sacred and is often seen in Japanese mythology and rituals) and omikoshi (portable shrine) procession. The main events, however, kick off in the evening with a variety of food vendors and a drum and fife parade by Tomari Elementary School students at 5:30pm and live entertainment from 6:20pm. The must-see fireworks display over the ocean is scheduled to start at 8:40pm.Tomari 2
