・☆。東郷温泉・Tōgō Onsen。☆・

2015.04.27 (Mon)

The existence of the hot spring in the middle of Lake Tōgō has been known since the Edo Period; however, the Japanese-style inns in the area were not built until the Meiji Era. Since then, the lively guests who come both for health and pleasure contributed to the development of Yurihama as a lakeside onsen town. The onsen’s abundant hot spring water is colorless, odorless, transparent, and has a slightly salty taste. It was at this beautiful spot off of Lake Tōgō that the Suimeiso Hotel, the first lodge managed by the local government, opened for business in 1957.
