Made from paulownia wood using traditional techniques, these hand-crafted geta (Japanese wooden clogs) are the work of Tsutomu Mitsukuni of Yurihama’s Asahi area, one of Tottori Prefecture’s foremost traditional craftsmen. Tsutomu marks the third generation to inherit the business, though its beginnings are unclear.

Geta prevent deformation and athlete’s foot by freeing up the toes and stimulate the feet’s pressure points when worn. Due to such benefits, they have been lionized as health goods. These geta convey the benefits of traditional footwear, all the while meeting the needs of the wearer.
