Tōgō Dam・東郷ダム

2015.02.24 (Tue)

Completed in 2004, the multi-purpose Tōgō Dam was built as a flood control for the Tōgō River Basin as well as for supplying the irrigation water for Yurihama’s pear fields. The dam has a maximum capacity of 720 thousand cubic meters, with a surface area of 3.2 cubic kilometers. It stands at 107 meters above sea level and is 227 meters long. White oaks, Yoshino cherry trees, and more can be found along the roads around the dam. There are also parking spots available and a lookout point with a perfect panoramic view of the Sea of Japan.
